“It’s cruel to train animals to perform tricks for our amusement.” Discuss

Human beings are not alone. We share this beautiful planet with large quantities of creature. Mammals, birds and inserts all contribute to the variety of this world, which are the gifts nature gives us. Animals should be our best companion in the universe and live with us in harmony. But some people train animals to perform tricks just for our amusement, which I think is absolutely cruel.

Obviously, animals are not living for amusing people. In the evolution, animals have found their ways to survive in this world. They run, they growl, they fight for living and breeding. Their existence is nor for human beings. We occupy their habitats, hunt them for food or goods, but animals could hardly damage people’s property and existence. Being caught and trained for performing tricks is not the fate of any kinds of animals. But now a few animals are suffering in this fate just because of people’s amusement demand.

Personally speaking, it’s not moral to force animals to leave their habitats, changing their living style for our amusement. People raise animals for food, which is to meet the fundamental demands of living. But training animals for amusement is totally for people fill with boredom to kill their time. It’s not necessary for those boring people to get rid of boredom in this way, but it often comes out the result that animals are living a miserable life. To amuse these boring people, animals are forced to do something they will hardly do in their ordinary life, receiving unnecessary punishment for the failure of doing strange jobs which are nor fit to their instinct. Animals suffered much more than they were living in nature. And it’s the human beings that give them this kind of life. I can’t agree more that what people do to animals for amusement is cruel and not moral.

In a more fundamental view, it’s not proper to change something because of one’s own will. One shouldn’t force other people to do anything they don’t want to do in his own will. That’s why we are against the autocratic emperor and try to build a democratic society, which means the respect for other’s choice. It’s the same to the relationship between human beings and animals. And it’s why biologists study animals, doing their endeavor to find out a way in which we can live with animals in harmony.
